Anna Jeffries

she/her/hers

Hi! I’m Anna Jeffries, a performer and director from New Providence, New Jersey. I recently graduated with a double major in Musical Theater and Political Science from the University of Tampa. I am based in New Jersey, just a short trip away from New York City. Most recently I performed a one-woman piece with Open Road Stage called “Lockwood” at the Producers Club in NYC. Currently I am the Choreographer for Matilda Jr. with Pebble Players and Assistant Director of Madagascar Jr. at Lincoln Hubbard Elementary. When not performing, I love to cook, needlepoint, scrapbook, and read!

I am a determined, funny, and curious performer willing to take risks and who excels under pressure.

Acting

I have been performing since I was kid and this year made my New York debut in Open Road Stage’s “Lockwood”. I graduated cum laude from the University of Tampa in Florida with a BFA in Musical Theater and BA in Political Science in May of 2024. While in school I was in numerous main stage productions and cabarets: Leader of the Pack (Ellie), Cabaret (Fräulein Kost (US) and Kit Kat Girl), and Urinetown (Little Becky Two Shoes). Outside of school I have been in A Christmas Carol* (featured ensemble), Grease (Jan), 25th…Spelling Bee (Rona), and Zoo Tampa’s “Creatures of the Night” event*. This year I have also ventured into the world of film through vertical short films including The Missing Kitchen King (Audience 4) and Son’s Wife Wants Me Dead (Costar) (Journey Entertainment*).

*professional experience

"Anna Jeffries is simply sensational as Jan, the Pink Lady who can’t get enough school food to eat. She’s an electric presence, and she almost single-handedly saves the opening number (“Grease Is the Word”) due to her energy and ability to own a crowded stage. She exudes star-quality." - Peter Nason for Broadway World Tampa on "Grease" at New Tampa Players

Directing

When I’m not performing I love directing for children’s theater! Currently I am choreographing Matilda Jr. with Pebble Players and assistant directing Madagascar Jr. at Lincoln Hubbard Elementary. During the fall, I stage managed for the first time, stage managing Something Rotten at Pebble Players. This summer, I was the Assistant Area Head of Theater at Camp Kingswood and assistant directed The Addams Family Jr. (Choreographer) and Beauty and the Beast Jr. (MD). Past shows include Peter Pan Jr. (Director), High School Musical Jr. (Director), SpongeBob Jr. (Asst. Director), Jungle Book Kids (Director, Choreographer), Sleeping Beauty Kids (Director, MD), and more!
